Brown Argus

Flight period: May to September.
The Brown Argus is always brown but confusingly belongs to the group of "blue" butterflies! They are usually found on chalk and limestone grassland in south east England but may also occur in a wide variety of other habitats such as heathland, coastal dunes, woodland clearings and road verges.
