Helsinki archipelago, Helsinki, Finland - North east Finland
Known as the "Daughter of the Baltic", Helsinki is located on the tip of a peninsula facing south to an archipelago of around 330 islands. Major islands include Pihlajasaari, Seurasaari, Vallisaari, Lauttasaari and Korkeasaari. Other noteworthy islands are the fortress island of Suomenlinna, the military island of Santahamina and Isosaari. The Helsinki archipelago provides a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city for both residents and tourists.
