Bullfinch

Bullfinch - Finches
The male Bullfinch is unmistakable with a bright pinkish-red breast and cheeks, grey back, black cap and tail and bright white rump. The flash of the rump in flight and the sad call note are usually the first signs of Bullfinches being present.

Bullfinches can be found throughout most of the UK but their localised and declining populations make it a Red List species.

Bullfinches can be seen all the year round and breed in broad-leaved woodland, thickets, hedgerows, orchards and mature gardens.
