Road 862 to Dettifoss, Vatnajökull National Park, north east Iceland
Road 862 lies east of Lake Mývatn and runs north from road 1 to the Dettifoss waterfall and onwards to the Ásbyrgi canyon.
Whilst it is a new, paved road which is passable for all vehicles, the road is not in service every day during winter and it is often closed during snowy periods.
