Nigula Nature Reserve is located in south west Estonia near Häädemeeste and it was established in 1957 to protect the Nigula Bog and its surrounding untouched swamp forests and managed forests. It is also included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance.

Nigula Nature Reserve is an important area for both migratory wildfowl and breeding wetland and forest birds and it is also home to numerous species of large mammals including Brown Bear, Wolf, Lynx, Beaver, Elk and Wild Boar.
