Buachaille Etive Mor, Argyll
Height: Stob Dearg 3352 feet and Stob na Doire 3316 feet.
The A82 road from Glasgow to Fort William crosses Rannoch Moor and descends in to Glencoe. Before doing so the rocky pyramid at the north east end of Buachaille Etive Mor stands as a sentinel at the "gateway" to the Highlands.
Buachaille Etive Mor lies at the head of Glen Etive and overlooks the north west corner of Rannoch Moor. The best known view of the mountain is from the north and east from where the great rocky pyramid of Stob Dearg is the outstanding feature of the mountain.
